Maximiliano's vision is to become a Physics researcher. He was an A student in high school and is now in his second year of college, majoring in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional in San Francisco, Argentina.

In his free time, Maximiliano enjoys playing basketball, going out with friends, listening to music (from classical to hard rock), and reading classics. Two of his favorite books are Sun Tzu' The Art of War and The Little Prince by Saint Exupery.

My name is Maximiliano Alejandro Senno and I am in my second year of college to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional San Francisco. I was born in General Guemes, in the province of Salta, Argentina, on May 9th 1992. Currently I live in San Francisco, province of Cordoba.

Since I was a young kid I have loved science, especially the study of elements and substances. First I was leaning toward Chemistry, but now I prefer Theoretical Physics. I remember reading physics books I found in the house, sometimes without understanding what I was reading, but just taking pleasure in reading and learning. Finally, when I needed to choose a college program, I decided to do Chemical Engineering because it is really close to physics and I was able to study it in my own hometown, which made it more affordable. My goal is to be able to apply what I know and make a contribution to the scientific world. On a more personal level, I am motivated by my own curiosity.

My plan is to finish my bachelor's degree and later do a PhD in Physics. If I could, I would love to do both chemistry and physics at the same time! I would like to do reasearch, especially in Theoretical Physics. My philosophy is to concentrate on the immediate steps, because one cannot be certain of the future. So I am focusing on getting my college degree first, and then I will see what my options are in terms of PhD programs.

Community Service (one of VISIONAR requirements): Currently I am volunteering as a lab assistant in the Chemistry Department at my university. Last year, I volunteered to fix computers at IPEM No 96 Pascual Bailon Sosa High School. Helping at the lab allows me to continue learning while assisting professors with various projects. This activity also fits into my schedule nicely.

My message is that it does not matter what kind of goals we set for ourselves, from getting a college degree to something simple like preparing a meal from a recipe; what matters is to tackle obstacles one by one, to be perseverant, and to follow one's passion. It is ok for anyone who faces challenges to get tired or even fail to reach some objective, but it is important to learn from one's mistakes and never give up. In order to do this, one must be prepared, trust oneself, and trust in one's own ability to overcome those challenges.
